Weekly Walks at Lunch - Update

Hello again!

Thank you to everyone who has come out to the luncheon walks so far. Here are some updates:

Due to the time restrictions for lunchbreaks, we will be holding the walks from 12noon - 12:30pm to accomodate more people.

Weekly Walks at Lunch - Schedule & Update!

Hello again!

The information for the Weekly Walks at Lunch initiative has now been sent out to all JCC and HHSC members, and we are looking forward to our first upcoming luncheon hikes. I have now composed a schedule for the first three lunch dates, which can be found on here and on the project webpage & Environment Hamilton homepage.

Schedule for the first 3 lunch dates:

Friday, August 14th
Wednesday, August 19th
Friday, August 21st

All participants are asked to meet at the patient drop-off area for the JCC at 12noon, just outside the sliding doors.

Weekly Walks at Lunch: A New Initiative held at the JCC and HSC

Hi folks!

There's a new initiative starting up, as part of the Concession Street Walks Project. Next week, August 9th-15th, will mark the first week of "Weekly Walks at Lunch", an initiative that focuses on getting people up, out, and active during their lunch hour. The following information is being sent out to all JCC and HSC employees:

Weekly Walks at Lunch:

Do you like walking? The outdoors? Social environments? To go along with the Concession Street Walks project, Environment Hamilton will be hosting special lunchtime walks twice a week for those at the Juravinski Cancer Center and the Henderson Hospital. Concession Street Walks is an Environment Hamilton project that aims to encourage sustainable transportation (walking, biking, public transit) and improve the walkability of neighbourhoods around Concession Street.

Weekly Walks at Lunch is meant to provide individuals an opportunity to get up, get out, and get active during lunchtime. The luncheon walks are free of charge, and there will be giveaways for those who come out. Come out to enjoy the fresh air, the summer sun, and to get active! Any and all are welcome to join. Pack a lunch, enjoy a midday walk, and eat amongst friends.
